Valuations
A business valuation is an independent assessment of the value of a business. The detailed analysis contained in a business valuation provides an indication of the future potential for your company and is an essential element in developing effective strategic plans. The value of your business can be important for many reasons. Perhaps it is for the purposes of restructuring or for an imminent sale. We can provide you with a basic and preliminary valuation or a more sophisticated certified valuation of your business.
Common reasons for getting a valuation:
• A potential sale of a business (part of the due diligence process)
• Partial ownership transfer to employees
• Shareholder dispute resolution
• Financing
• Estate Planning
• Succession Planning
• Divorce Proceedings
• Tax Planning
• Corporate Reorganization
• Insurance Coverage
• Assessing the value of intangible assets

Level 1:
This is the most common type of valuation conducted to prepare a business for sale. It is a final check to ensure that all the value drivers are identified. It is also a useful due diligence tool for buyers as part of their due diligence process. This type of valuation addresses some of the high-level value drivers and provides an estimate of value. This level of valuation is appropriate for internal management decisions such as determining the timing of a divestiture or testing management decisions year-over-year. This type of valuation is associated with a higher cost than a pricing analysis and reporting is provided to explain assumption, methods, and limitations.

Level 2:
A comprehensive valuation report is prepared by a Certified Valuation Analyst and contains a conclusion as to the value of shares, assets or an interest in a business that is based on a comprehensive review and analysis of your pharmacy and all other relevant factors.  A great deal of care and attention is taken and a very detailed Valuation Report is provided to you. This level of valuation is most appropriate whenever CRA or a court is either involved or could potentially be involved in the future. The following are examples of where a comprehensive valuation report would be needed: estate planning, divorce proceedings, tax planning, corporate reorganization, and ownership transfer to employees or shareholder dispute resolution. Valuation Pricing

As the complexity of the valuation increases, the associated price does as well. However, providing clean, quality information may lower the price of the valuation as less time is needed for interpretation. A Pharmacy Edge consultant would be happy to assess your needs and recommend the appropriate level of valuation.
