Wealth Creation Phase

In the Wealth Creation Phase, our team advises on your current pharmacy operations, provides contract review, assesses the corporate structure and provides insights on risk management. During this phase, our Advisory Alliance Associates work with you on developing your business through our Value Drivers and provide Strategic Advice.

Transitional Phase
In the Transitional Phase, our team takes you through the Valuation process as part of the Strategic Wealth Planning. As you near retirement, our team then provides you with a suite of Selling Services to transition you into retirement.

Asset Allocation Phase
In the Asset Allocation Phase, our team of Advisory Alliance Associates takes you through the strategic wealth planning process, reviews investment policy and ultimately asset investment. KJ Harrison’s investment approach seeks to achieve outstanding, long-term, risk-adjusted returns for our clients over a full market cycle.

Max Beairsto received both his pharmacy degree and executive MBA from the University of Alberta. In addition, he holds a certification as a valuation analyst through the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. His 21-year involvement in pharmacy acquisitions began shortly after graduating from pharmacy with the purchase of his first drugstore. He joined the Katz Group shortly after gaining more valuation experienceas Director of Acquisitions for Western Canada.​

Over the last 11 years, however - through his own company, Pharmacy Edge - he has been actively involved in business brokerage and valuations having completed hundreds of valuation assessments. In addition to this, he has seized other pharmacy ownership opportunities and has also served as a board member with the Alberta Pharmacists' Association.

With over 35 years of experience in the Canadian retail industry, Mike acts as a trusted advisor to independent business owners on matters associated with succession planning and business transition. He also provides valuable insight on issues of wealth management pertaining to estate matters, corporate structure, tax planning and business valuation.

During his 41 years of public practice, Stephen provided his clients with pragmatic advice and business advisory insight. He is now proud to support KJ Harrison in their wealth management strategies for high net worth individuals. Stephen’s areas of expertise include strategy, private enterprise tax planning services, succession and estate planning, profit and operational improvement and liquidity/exit strategies.

Prior to joining KJ Harrison, Stephen spent his last 6 years in public accounting at Grant Thornton LLP including in his role as Partner, National Leader Privately Held Business from 2013-2016.

Stephen received his BA at the University of Toronto and also holds his CPA, CA designations.
